Tango Classes at MIT - NEW SESSION

  • MIT 50 Vassar Street, Bldg 36, Rm 156 Cambridge, MA, 02139 United States (map)

ADVANCED BEGINNER A, 7:00 - 8:15
In this class students will build on the steps, concepts and skills developed at the Beginner level, including but not limited to: check step variations, refining and improvising with the molinette, changing directions, and introducing paradas.

As always, musicality, connection, and partnering will be emphasized with all concepts and steps.

ON AXIS, OFF AXIS, ON PURPOSE, 8:30 - 9:45
Learn how to add spice by playing with the axis. We'll apply these ideas to fundamentals you already know, then introduce new figures like volcadas and colgadas that are all about challenging gravitational expectations. Working in open and close embrace, your increasing comfort with these concepts will in general improve your dance, making it more connected, musical and fluid. (Intermediate)
